Roller Coasters

AR: 5
Lexile: 880
by Gil Chandler     Illus. by Tom Maglione, and Paul L. Ruben
Normal-length Picture Book
Genre: Non-fiction

If you are a coaster fanatic like I am, the photographs in this book will get your heart racing! I liked this book, though I would have liked a lot more pictures of the coasters and information on where they are located (so I can go ride them one day!). There were lots of interesting facts, so it was a pretty good book for people who are just beginning to find out about coasters. I did learn one new thing: I already knew that in Spanish a roller coaster is called a "Russian Mountain" (monta?a russo) but I learned where that unusual term came from. Read this book to find out!
