If one cannot enjoy reading a book over and over again, there is no use in reading it at all.

A fairy gave Ella a “gift” when she was born: she would be obedient. However, it has proven to be less a gift than a curse. She must obey any direct command given to her. If someone told her to hop on one foot she would have to do it. If someone else told her to give him all her money she would be compelled to obey. If someone told her to kill herself she could not refuse! But it doesn't mean she is a "goody two-shoes." Ella is a funny, smart, independent girl with ideas of her own. Find out what happens as she comes up against fairies, ogres, and greedy step-sisters who have discovered her secret.

This is a really good book! It is a new version of a classic fairy tale with a great heroine and many interesting characters. Even though it's based on a story we all know already, it seems like a completely original novel with lots of suspense and drama. I highly recommend this to anyone, boy or girl, who enjoys well-written fantasy stories.
