Cheyenne Again

Short Picture Book
Genre: Fiction

Young Bull is an Indian (Native American) boy who is taken from his tribe to be educated in a white boarding school. He struggles to get through each day, all the while dreaming of becoming Cheyenne again.

The language is simple and poetic and the paintings are beautiful. It is empathetic without being preachy. If you want to read about Indians in a historical context, this easy book is a good place to start.
