WIRN - Ramona the Pest

Jul 7, 2005 - Today I started my first "Ramona Quimby" book. I'm reading Ramona the Pest. She started her first day in school (kindergarten) and try as she might, she can't help getting in trouble! When her teacher tells her to "sit here for the present" (meaning "for now"), Ramona thinks she is going to get a gift. It leads to more and more misunderstandings! I like this kid. She's mischievous but not malicious (yet).

Jul 9, 2005 - Okay, I am liking this kid! She is SUCH the kindergartner. This author has had experience with kids like these, you can tell. Everything that happens is very real bu also funny. Like life! I just got to a part where Ramona is so happy with her new rubber boots that she tromps through a big mud puddle even though the crossing guard, an older kid named Henry, has warned her not to. She kind of got sassy with him, reminding him that while he is "on the job" he's not allowed to talk to kids. Well, now she is stuck in the mud! And no one seems able to get her out. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Jul 11, 2005 - Ramona was rescued, but her boots were stuck in the mud until her future husband, Henry, went back to unstick them. Unfortunately, later on, Ramona got in trouble and decided to become a kindergarten dropout because Miss Binney didn't like her anymore. How does it end? Read it and find out!

Don't forget to read my book review.
