In a real sense, people who have read good literature have lived more than people who cannot or will not read. It is not true that we have only one life to live; if we can read, we can live as many more lives and as many kinds of lives as we wish.

Two kids are stuck at home and are visited by a cat in a hat. He causes mischief and mayhem, etc.

I know little people and grown-up people are all going to think I'm crazy, but I just never understood this "Cat in the Hat" thing. I don't really care for this book, and even less for the next book where he comes back. The rhymes are okay but I don't think the cat is a very interesting character. To me, he is what we call in Spanish a "travieso", a trouble-maker. If you like this book, great! I could take it or leave it.
